We'd like to give you an impression of the sort of things which we really love about holidays in Crail. One of the best is having access to the lovely rocky cove of Roome Bay. If you look closely at some of the photos, you'll see that Sandcastle Cottage is just at the top of the grassy slope - follow the line of the path beside the doo'cot.

The small play park at Roome Bay is ideal for smaller children, and for older guests there are plenty of benches set into the slopes round the bay where you can sit and take in the scenery. There is a good view of the Forth Estuary and the Island of May.

The beach at Roome Bay is rocky, but when the tide is going out there are lots of pools to explore and no matter the season, all you need is a good pair of 'wellies' and you're all set for a happy few hours exploring. There is an old paddling pool - which isn't really suitable for that purpose any more, but is ideal for sailing model boats. Here's what the Good Beach Guide has to say about Roome Bay.
